司令塔として、東海大仰星高で全国優勝、早大1、2年時には大学選手権優勝。大学4年の春には日本代表に選ばれた。2018年にウェイン・スミス総監督就任後、FBに固定されると存在感をアピール。サンウルブズを経て、RWC2019日本代表スコッドに選出された。
As a playmaker, Ryohei led both Tokai University Gyosei High School to their national championship victory and Waseda University to two of their Japan University Championship victories. He was called up for the Japan national team during his fourth year at university and began to make waves in his regular position as full back after Wayne Smith was appointed director for Kobe Kobelco Steelers in 2018. He was selected into the Japan national squad for RWC 2019 after playing for Sunwolves.
