Japan’s Sakura Fifteen Welcome USA Women’s Eagles for Two-Test Series
As the USA and Japan celebrate the official U.S. – Japan Tourism Year, international rugby action returns once again to Kitakyushu and Shizuoka when Japan’s Sakura Fifteen take on the USA Women’s Eagles across two summer test matches this August.
The matches mark the first time for the two sides to face each other on one of either team’s home soil, with both previous encounters taking place at neutral venues during Rugby World Cups.
The action kicks off on Sunday, August 11 at Mikuni World Stadium in Kitakyushu with the first test. The second match follows six days later, on Saturday, August 17 at ECOPA Stadium in Shizuoka. Both fixtures kick off at 18:00 local Japan Time and tickets for both matches can be purchased in English via the links below.

A fired-up Japan will be looking for their first ever win against a USA team famous for their physicality and size. The USA Women’s Eagles were one of the earliest international women’s sides to transition into a high-performance environment, an investment that has seen them perform consistently at the highest levels in the international women’s game.
The two fixtures coincide with the official U.S. – Japan Tourism Year which runs from January 2024 to March 2025 with the aim of recovering and expanding mutual tourism exchanges following the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Promotions will take at match the venues with the dissemination of U.S.-Japan Tourism Year handouts as well as promotions via social media and through the Japan National Tourism Organisation’s Facebook and the JNTOs website.
