New Brave Blossoms Jersey Revealed Ahead of RWC

The Japan Rugby Football Union have announced the arrival of the new Brave Blossoms jersey in the leadup to Rugby World Cup 2023 in France. Revealed to the public for the first time at a launch event today in central Tokyo, the new jersey will be worn by the Brave Blossoms for the first time in their Lipovitan D Challenge Cup 2023 match against the All Blacks XV on 15 July at Egao Kenko Stadium in Kumamoto.

Developed and manufactured by Canterbury Japan, the new jersey has been designed to be the most durable and technologically advanced national team jersey ever. Furthermore, it carries the passion, memories, and dreams of Japanese fans across the country, who donated their old rugby jerseys to be recycled into the new high-performance materials used in the jersey’s construction.

Canterbury Japan ran a campaign at Brave Blossoms test matches last year, encouraging fans to bring their old rugby wear to match venues for recycling. The material making up the new jersey has been drawn from these recycled materials, thus symbolising the forging of an ever-closer bond between the team and fans, in the true spirit of ‘One Team’.

The new Japan National Rugby Team jersey will be available for pre-order from 4pm today, Friday 23 June, via the Canterbury Online Store. General sales will begin at Canterbury shops nationwide and the JRFU Official Online Store from 16:00 on Thursday, 29 June.
