Round three of the Japan Rugby Top League Cup 2019 took place on Friday, 5 June and Saturday, 6 June 2019 at various locations across Japan.

At the Chichibu ground in Tokyo on Friday evening, Kobe Steel had to work hard to beat Ricoh 19-13 to keep their winning record intact in this Pool D encounter. Meanwhile, in the only other Friday game, table-topping NTT Docomo suffered their first loss when they went down 36-12 to Yamaha in Osaka in their Pool B clash.

In Pool A, Suntory had a comfortable 55-7 win over Kurita to head the table on 15 points from Panasonic on 14 points. Panasonic are the only other undefeated team in this pool after their 40-7 win over Honda at Kumagaya. Hino are in third place on 11 points following their 40-12 victory over Kurita while Honda, Kurita and Shimizu make up the rest of the group.

In Pool B, Toshiba beat Sanix 42-5 to top this pool on 13 points and remain the only unbeaten side in the group. NTT Communications and Yamaha trail Toshiba on 11 points each after the former scored a 67-14 win over Kyuden at Kamaishi. Docomo drop to fourth followed by scoreless Sanix and Kyuden.

In Pool C, Canon and Kubota both remain undefeated after the former beat Coca-Cola 33-17 and the latter beat Mitsubishi Sagamihara 12-7. Canon top the table on the full 15 points from Kubota on 14 points and Mitsubishi on 7 points. Kamaishi Seawaves and Coca-Cola bring up the tail.

In Pool D, Kobe are on top on 13 points followed by Kintetsu on 10 points. Kintetsu had a surprise 56-19 win over Top League side NEC for their second win in three outings. NEC are in third place on 9 points followed by Ricoh on 7 points. Elsewhere in this pool, Toyota Industries pulled a win from the jaws of defeat with a gripping 26-24 victory over Mazda down in Yamaguchi prefecture. That was the first win for the Toyota side leaving Mazda winless on the bottom of the pool table.
