Shuhei Kubo Selected as Assistant Referee for World Cup

Japanese referee Shuhei Kubo has been selected as an assistant referee for the 2019 Rugby World Cup to be hosted in Japan from September to November.

The 37-year-old Kubo made the following comments about his selection. “I am very honoured to be chosen as a match official for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan. I will do my utmost at the tournament as a representative of Japan and Asia. Moreover, I hope to use all that I learn from the experience to help raise the standard of refereeing in Japan. I would like to thank the Japan Rugby Football Union, fellow referees and staff who have helped me along the way.”
