World Rugby U20 Trophy 2017: Day 3 Pool Results

The Japan Under-20 team is participating in the 2017 World Rugby Under-20 Trophy to be held in Uruguay from 28 August to 10 September 2017. The tournament is being held at the Estadio Charrua and Estadio Domingo Burgueno in Montevideo.

There are eight teams participating at the tournament including hosts Uruguay, Japan who were relegated from the World Rugby Under-20 Championship last year, along with regional qualifiers Hong Kong, Namibia, Chile, Canada, Portugal and Fiji.

After beating Chile 28-22 in their opening game on Tuesday, the Japan Under-20s made it two wins in a row with a 50-12 win over Canada in Montevideo last Saturday. Japan and Namibia faced off on Wednesday for top spot in Pool A with Japan winning 33-13.

Japan as the top team in Pool A will play Portugal who headed Pool B in the Trophy Final on Sunday with a place in the World Rugby Under-20 Championship for next year up for grabs.
