WRWC2017: Sakura Fifteen and Hong Kong Finalise Squads
At the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup, the Japan Sakura Fifteens play Hong Kong in the play-off for eleventh place at the Queen’s University Belfast on Saturday, 26 August 2017.
Hong Kong under head coach Jo Hull are appearing at their first Women’s Rugby World Cup and play their fifth and final game against Asian rivals Japan. Hong Kong are looking for their first World Cup win, but it will not be easy against the Sakura Fifteen of Japan. Japan won comfortably in both legs of the Women’s Asia Rugby Championship in July and like Hong Kong, the Japanese are hungry for their first win at this tournament.
Both sides have improved immensely over the course of their time in Dublin and Belfast and this should set up the prospect of an enthralling play-off for eleventh place.
