Kubota Lay Down Challenge to Kobe in TLC Final

Kubota Spears will play Kobe Steel Kobelco Steelers in the final of the Japan Rugby Top League Cup 2019 at the Higashiosaka Hanazono Rugby Stadium in Osaka on Saturday, 10 August 2019.

Kobe Steel, as the reigning Japan Rugby Top League champions, will go into the final as firm favourites to take the Cup as they back up their impressive form from last season. On the other hand, Kubota have nothing to lose and will throw everything at the Steelers in the decider.

Former All Blacks halfback Andy Ellis captains the Steelers in a strong side that includes Japan tight head prop Hiroshi Yamashita, exciting young fullback Shinsuke Iseki and goal-kicking maestro Hayden Parker at first five. Meanwhile, the Spears will be led by lock Yuki Aoki with former Japan centres Harumichi Tatekawa and Sione Teaupa leading the way in the backs.
