Comments

After the match, game captain Kazuki Himeno said, “I was not totally satisfied with our performance today. Nevertheless, that gives us things to work on at our next camp in Miyazaki. Our next challenge though, is the World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup 2019. On a personal level, as a leader, I know I have to improve my English ability to communicate better with referees. Today’s game was tough and physical. We held our structures better than we did against the Brumbies B and this gave us better go forward.”

Hooker Shota Horie also made the following comments, “A few unforced errors held us back at times today, but I was very pleased with our rhythm at the set piece. Playing back here reminded me of my days with the Rebels, but I tried not to think about it too much. Our next step is camp in Miyazaki prefecture in June.”

Wing Kenki Fukuoka said, “We managed to keep the focus on our game today and not worry about the opposition. We also scored some fine tries. The squad is making fine gains and we hope to peak for the Rugby World Cup.”
