Japan High Schools Lose Opener in Ireland

Japan High Schools opened their tour of Ireland with a hard-fought 17-7 loss to the Munster Under-19s. The game was played at the Thomond Park Stadium in Limerick on Wednesday, 15 March 2017.

In the first half, the Munster side kept the pressure on the Japan High Schools resulting in a number of penalties and a sinbinning. The hosts ran in two tries in the half to take a 10-0 lead into the halftime break. Japan High Schools tightened up their defence in the latter half and found more rhythm in attack, but ended up going down 17-7.
