Japan Set to Host Asia Rugby Emirates Women’s Championship 2025
The Japan Rugby Football Union is delighted to announce that JAPAN BASE will play host to the Asia Rugby Emirates Women’s Championship 2025. Located just outside Fukuoka, on Japan’s southern island of Kyushu, JAPAN BASE is Japan Rugby’s purpose built, high performance national rugby training centre.
Running from May 15 – 25, the tournament will be played in a three-match, round robin format featuring hosts Japan, Hong Kong China and Kazakhstan. While all three fixtures are fully capped matches, the Japan side is expected to include a number of emerging players as the Sakura Fifteen coaching team looks to build further depth ahead of Rugby World Cup 2025 in England.
Having just returned from their victorious tour to the USA, where they defeated the USA Eagles for the first time ever, the Sakura Fifteen will be looking to put in a strong performance across their two matches as they continue building momentum toward the World Cup.2

All tournament fixtures will be free of charge for spectators at JAPAN BASE. Fans looking to catch the fixtures via broadcast can tune into J Sports for Round 1 and 3, while Rouns 2 will be streamed free through Asia Rugby online channels and RugbyPass TV.
Round 1 will be shown live and via catch-up on J-Sports On-Demand on Thursday, May 15 from 12:45 JST. A recording of the match will also be aired on J Sports 2 on Friday, May 16 at 19:00 JST.
