Sakura Sevens All Set for Singapore SVNS
Having finished third in Dubai and fifth in Cape Town, the Sakura Sevens head into the third leg of the HSBC SVNS Series in third place on the competition table behind Australia and New Zealand. Running across the weekend of January 31 – February 1, all eyes will be on Singapore’s National Stadium for what is one of the highlight venues of the HSBC SVNS circuit.
With an eight-week break following the Cape Town leg back in early December, Japan have named a close to full strength side for the weekend, with speed and try scoring capability spread across the 15-member squad. The team will be looking to replicate their heroics in Dubai where they secured their first ever HSBC SVNS podium finish
After Singapore, the SVNS carnival rolls onto Perth, Western Australia the following weekend. The squad will travel directly onto Australia before making their way back home for a month’s break before heading onto the Vancouver leg in early March.
