New Zealand Universities Set for Three-Match Spring Tour to Japan

The Japan Rugby Football Union is pleased to announce that New Zealand Universities (NZU), New Zealand’s National University Rugby Team, will tour Japan in May for a three-match series. All fixtures will be held in Oita Prefecture on the southern island of Kyushu, with NZU facing Japan U20, Japan U23, and the Japan XV.

The tour begins on Friday, May 16 at Crasus Dome in Oita City, where NZU will play Japan U20. The next match takes place in the famous onsen resort of Beppu, on Tuesday, May 20, at Jissoji Sports Grounds, with NZU taking on Japan U23. The series concludes on Saturday, May 24 at Crasus Dome, with NZU facing the Japan XV.

All three matches are free to attend, giving rugby fans in Kyushu the chance to watch Japan’s future national team stars at U20 and U23 level, as well as the Japan XV. With NZU featuring future Super Rugby Pacific stars and potential All Blacks, the quality of the fixtures is sure to be electric.
