RWC2019ベスト8入りの立役者。「もっと厳しい環境に身を置きたい」と、2020-2021シーズンはスーパーラグビー・ハイランダーズでプレー。突破力、ジャッカルはニュージーランドでも通用。トップリーグ2017-2018に続き、スーパーラグビーでも新人賞を獲得した。
A key player leading Japan to the quarter-finals at RWC 2019, he is currently playing with Highlanders in Super Rugby 2020-2021 season after his decision to play in a challenging environment. His powerful break through and jackal is garnering attention in New Zealand and he was selected at Rookie of the Year for Top League 2017-2018 and subsequently Super Rugby 2021.
