The 57th Japan University Rugby Championship Semi-final News

Action in the 57th Japan University Rugby Championship is down to the final four universities with the semi-finals set for the Prince Chichibu Memorial Rugby Ground in central Tokyo on Saturday, 2 January 2021.

The first game on the card sees Waseda University, the reigning titleholder, take on Kanto Taiko League Group A rivals Teikyo University. Waseda had a solid 45-29 win over Teikyo in their league encounter back in early November and come in to this clash with enough of an edge to start as favourites to make it through to the final.

In the other game, two of the top seeds in Meiji University from the Kanto Taiko League and Tenri University from the Kansai League go head to head for a place in the decider.

The two semi-final games will be broadcast live on NHK G television from 12:45 and on delayed broadcast on J Sports 1 from 5:30 PM.

The final is set for Monday, 11 January 2021, a national holiday for Coming of Age Day, at the National Stadium in Tokyo with a 1:15 PM kick-off.
