Rugby World Cup Parade

On 21 November 2019, the Japan Rugby Football Union announced that a parade by the players involved with the Japan national rugby union side that participated in the successful 2019 Rugby World Cup Japan will be held in Tokyo on Wednesday, 11 December 2019.

At the recent Rugby World Cup, Japan won all their pool games, including wins over Ireland and Scotland, to top Pool A and qualify for the knock-out stage for the first time. In the quarterfinals, Japan were knocked-out by South Africa, the eventual tournament winners.

The one-hour parade is scheduled for the Marunouchi district near Tokyo station starting at about midday. The event is aimed at expressing appreciation for the overwhelming support from the general public and Japanese rugby fans for the Japan side during the Rugby World Cup.
